I know it's been a while since I provided
musings from the little red book...so, here's a post to change that!
Today's inspiration from the little red book takes place in the boudoir...did you know the origin of the word comes from the eighteenth century?
Boudoir plays on
bouder, to sulk or pout, & thus means 'sulking place.' While the boudoir came into being when the
Rococo was the dominant style in French interior decoration--one thinks of a boudoir being quite at home (excuse the pun) in an
hôtel--it surely doesn't mean it has to be overly embellished Rococo.... or have anything to do with sulking for that matter!
so, a page from the little red book:
I actually have a pinterest board labelled '
boudoir n loos' where most of the images below are from.

{fresh flowers & a dash of pink among the marble keeps it feminine} |
One thing that always poses a problem is how to organise one's jewels?
I suggested converting a
cake stand, but one can think of other types of
objets trouvés that could be used as well:
|
{pretty little box} |
Artwork? I suggested old vogue mags or profile portraits:
|
{love this--available to purchase on etsy} |
or make your own...
|
{these are of me & my four sisters} |
Some more boudoir ideas:
|
{keep it clean & bright with white} |
accessories:
& why not just a bit of embellishment with fancy lighting?
|
{plain white--& don't we love these little framed creatures?} |
voila--et ne boudez pas!
bisous,
