{Londoney weekend}

A couple of weekends ago my cousins came to stay. We visited Apsley House (home once to the Duke of Wellington, famed for 'winning' the Battle of Waterloo) and Wellington Arch on the Saturday and dined in Mayfair. On the Sunday we travelled to Waterloo Station (oddly a Wellington-themed weekend), walked along the Thames and followed one of London's Hidden Walks, before going to Alice Underground. Alice Underground is a fantastic interactive play, set in the vaults near Waterloo. It's like nothing I've ever experienced before. The only way to describe it, is to say it's like you've entered the book and experienced Wonderland. You're taken down dark passageways, asked to hold on to stranger's hands, or else you'll fall...you meet the Madhatter and sit for tea...it's all completely incomprehensible, fantastical, and so very Wonderland like!
Unfortunately, you can't take pics in Wonderland, so you'll have to experience it for yourself!
Here are some pics from the weekend:

{waiting to go into Alice!}

...& something to ponder from Lewis Carroll, “Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle.”
I've got two great little prints from Alice in my flat--we all need a bit of wonderland nonsense in our lives, n'est-ce pas??

{quotable thursdays/madhatter hen}

{madness}
This past weekend, we all went mad. Well, we had a Madhatter Tea Hen Party, celebrating a friend's soon-to-be married status! It was in Filey, a little town on the Yorkshire coast. simply fun. simply mad!
 It was a really great idea for a hen party...tea pots were filled with cocktails, and it gave us the excuse to just go mad & let loose!
All 7 of us stayed in this gorgeous house:
{went for a lovely walk in Scarborough}
{ice cream by the sea shore}

{table all ready with Mad hatter props}
{pin the bow tie on the Madhatter game..and Alice bunting}

{we're all a little bit mad}

Go out & enjoy your mad side;)
