{Venezia on the horizon}

Hi blogland!
These last few weeks have been incredibly busy--I can't keep up. But guess what? I'm off to Venice next week! It's for work--I'm giving a paper at a conference...you can read the programme here.

um, yeah, in THAT building, right on the Grand Canal!

For the first few days I'll be staying in a lovely 15th-century palazzo turned into a hotel called Ca' San Polo...then on the weekend my parents join me and I've rented a little apartment with a balcony on a small canal near San Zaccaria.

Totally looking forward & remembering fond times I've had in Venice on previous trips:

Lots has been happening on my little house--picture rails are up, wardrobes are almost finished in my bedroom. I've just been a bit too busy to post, but will try to catch up soon.

Hello Blogland!

How is everybody today? My latest publication is out, which is thrilling...but in the mean time I'm working on a whole load of new publications and I'm feeling rather overwhelmed. However, I feel blessed every day that I get to think for a living and do what I really love. So this quote today is about being drawn by the thing(s) you really love...

Just a little word of warning: it's not always easy! It took me ages to finally get a job doing what I love...Drawn by the things you love, will certainly provide you with a more fulfilling and rewarding life, but just be prepared for a bit of a bumpy road. However, who was ever satisfied when things were just simply easy?
