{musings from the little red book-boudoirs}

I know it's been a while since I provided musings from the little red book...so, here's a post to change that!
Today's inspiration from the little red book takes place in the boudoir...did you know the origin of the word comes from the eighteenth century? Boudoir plays on bouder, to sulk or pout, & thus means 'sulking place.' While the boudoir came into being when the Rococo was the dominant style in French interior decoration--one thinks of a boudoir being quite at home (excuse the pun) in an hôtel--it surely doesn't mean it has to be overly embellished Rococo.... or have anything to do with sulking for that matter!

One thing that always poses a problem is how to organise one's jewels?

I suggested converting a cake stand, but one can think of other types of objets trouvés  that could be used as well:

I am most grateful that I live in an environment where my thoughts, work, opinions, and independence matter, are appreciated, and generally supported. I know others do not have so many opportunities and I count my blessings.

Sometimes silence is actually the better choice.

We ought to be kinder to one another. But sometimes people can be kind of mean, or just foolish, and so, silence is also sometimes a better tool. Perhaps it's kind of like the saying 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all' however, the first quote seems a little smarter than that.

Anyway, we have spring break next week, which I'm looking forward to. I feel like this semester has been harder than normal in dealing with students--constant lateness, unpreparedness, excuses, excuses, and just down right laziness. So a little break will do the trick, and only just over two months more in this country!
