{European Sojourn--Mallorcan Wedding!}

well...sadly, my European sojourn did come to an end. But it ended with a big bang--a fantastic wedding of a dear friend. After a week of boat rides, a visit to Palma & a wine tour, we completed the trip with the wedding ceremony in the city hall followed by a lunch of paella on the Friday...and then Saturday was the Korean ceremony & big party/reception. What fun! Congrats to Alex & Min & thanks for organising such a fun-filled week!

{quotable thursdays}

My parents were just visiting & we had a fabulous time (more on that later). Today's quotes are inspired by them--wonderful parents who instilled in me a sense of adventure, who taught me that risk-taking is a good thing, & who continually enjoy every aspect of life.

Growing up we always drank tea in the morning & in the afternoon & we learned that having tea with people you love can really solve all your problems:
tea solves everything!!!

Finally, as they raised me mostly on a boat sailing around the world, travel is part of my upbringing. However, the destination is not always the life-changing experience. It's what you become after you go to a new place; after the long journey there & back. What I love most is how you discover new things about yourself every time you go away & that upon your return you are always someone different.

sent to 'friend edith'
{via dogs & dice}
Here's a good quote for the start of the academic year. Always try your best! I love the old postcard too. I wonder who 'friend Edith' is, and who is the mysterious T. I wonder what the subsequent postcard or letter said that he was to write that night?...a proposal? hmm.... (& why am I assuming T is a beau/male and not Edith's bestfriend? ha!)
I like the following images-they seem to go well with the colour scheme of the postcard and the theme of 'do the best you can.'
Happy Thursday! the weekend is almost here, & my parents are visiting & we're renting a boat & going sailing. delightful!
ta ta for now,

{European Sojourn-visit to Son Puig vineyards}

For those of you who have been reading my blog, you'll know that I spent a week in Mallorca in August to attend the wedding of some friends. The week was full of great things planned, including a trip to a nearby island & a tour of Palma.
Another organised visit by the lovely bride, Min, & the groom, Alex was a private tour of  Son Puig vineyards. The vineyard is run by a single family and just walking through the grounds, brings you back to another world. The estate dates back, I believe, to the Middle Ages and the buildings, the land, and the views were all breathtaking. After our tour of the vineyard & facilities, we tasted the wines & had tapas. The wines were really tasty, and we got a foretaste of paradise, as Son Puig were also the suppliers of Min & Alex's wedding.
Rather than babbling on, I think the photos will do better justice to the place than my clumsy language:
