{May Bank holiday weekend}

Last weekend I spent at my cousins seeing some fantastic stuff.
First we spent the day at Knole, a beautiful Jacobean manor famed for being the home of poet, gardener, novelist, biographer and journalist Vita Sackville-West (and once lover of Virginia Woolf).

{walking the fabulous grounds}

{there are beautiful deer everywhere in the park}

The next day we went to lovely Constable Country where we rented a rowboat and travelled down the river, singing our hearts out and enjoying the fabulous day!

We started off from near Le Talbooth...

and then walked along the River Stour in beautiful Constable Country :

 and then ended up at the BoatHouse where we rented our rowboat:

& off we went:

{pulling my weight...}

 We went all the way to Flatford Mill (where Constable famously painted the Haywain--for pics of Flatford, see an earlier post) and then back again... and then we walked into Dedham:

Simply, a fab fab weekend!

{quotable thursdays}

Hello Blogland!
Any fun plans for the weekend? My cousins are coming to celebrate my cousin Choo's birthday. It'll be fun fun fun!
In honour of that, this might just be the motto for the weekend:

{let's party!}
{let the festivities begin!}

Happy Thursday--can't wait for the weekend to be here.
{lovely words from Roald Dahl}
There needs to be more good thoughts around and more shiny, happy faces! Not easily found on commuter trains or on packed tubes in London!
{smile}

Any exciting plans for the weekend? I'm going to Trooping the Colour on Saturday. Will take pics!

{Happy Weekend}

For many of us professors in the US this is the last weekend before school starts.
Happy Weekend! Make sure to try to enjoy the last few days of summer (although it may feel more like winter with Hurricane Irene).
